Your core is made up of a group of muscles which include the abdominals, obliques, lower back and glutes. Within this are muscles whose function is to stabalise the body. Also, others which create the movement your torso makes. Think side bends, extensions, twisting and turning.
A strong sore is the very essence of good health within your body.
Most Noteworthy, as much as you know junk food is bad for you. Wouldn’t it be nice if we reflected the same toward physical movement because of how good it is for you?
We take it for granted and perhaps don’t realise just how much we call upon our core muscles to assist everything we do. From reaching up to get something from the top shelf at the grocery store or to reach down and tie our shoe laces.
Furthermore, the core muscles provide both balance and strength. But more importantly connect our upper body to our lower body allowing functional movement.

When you start to release yourself from an obsession of having a flat tummy and appreciate the core for what it actually is, wonderful things can happen.
It isn’t about looking good. It is the functional movements that we often take for granted.
Sitting down into a chair, tying our shoelaces, twisting to say hello to someone. Picking your baby up, reaching across the table for the ketchup. Almost every single movement we make, uses our core muscles in some way or another.
When you have a strong core you will find living day to day easier.
