Have you ever wondered how to get motivated? What to do when
We all have great intentions, well most of us anyway. To start the journey to feel better within ourselves, to become a little fitter and maybe drop a dress size. Motivation is where the key to success or failure lies.
Then the day comes, you simply cannot be bothered. When this happens what do you do? When your motivation has abandoned you.
Do you grab that biscuit and lay on the sofa? Do you take a big deep breath and do it anyway?
You will either be someone who falls into one or the other camps. Or someone who fluctuates between the two at different times of the year.
First, know that this happens to each and every one of us at some time or another. It’s normal to feel this way but it doesn’t have to mean defeat.
There are a few things you can do to help you stay on track. Even when you can’t be bothered to.
1. GET POSITIVE
It is proven that happiness makes us more productive. If you want to get positive you need to stop with the negativity. Ditch the excuses, the reasons why you can’t and start focusing on the reasons why you can. More importantly – the reasons why you want to.
Get a list going, write down as may positive affirmations as you can. Read and re-read until you believe every word. Until you feel so positive you want to make the change NOW!
2. GRAB A BUDDY
It is proven that people if you work out with others you are far more likely to stick at it than if you exercise alone. Grab a friend and commit to getting fit together. If you are following an online program, join the online community!
If you surround yourself with people who have similar goals you won’t want to let them down. You will turn up when you say you are going to turn up. You will become accountable for the changes that you promise to make! So what’s stopping you – go get ‘em!!
3. DITCH THE SCALES
Scales are a massive mood changer. They are also the worst way possible to track progress. In

4. COMMITCommit your time and if you can only fit in a 20-minute slot – then fit in a 20-minute workout

5. DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
Everyone starts somewhere, and most likely not everyone was great to start. Focus on yourself, where you are trying to get to and most importantly how far you have come along the way. C
Sometimes this is all it will take, openly commit yourself to your feel good. Instead of having the cloud of failure and negativity follow you around. Take a big deep breath. Blow that cloud into oblivion and achieve what you want to achieve.
