Bliss balls, energy balls, protein balls or whatever you want to call them🤣
This wholefood, simple to prepare snack ticks all the boxes:
- Wholesome, healthy ingredients
- Combines many superfoods that do more than satisfy a sweet craving
- Prepped and ready in 10 minutes
Whether it’s a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack (3 o'clock slump anyone?), sometimes you need a healthy, energy-filled pick-me-up. Healthy snacking has become a minefield. There are so many choices available in our supermarkets. It's difficult to know which ones are good and not so good.
When picking a healthy snack we recommend choosing foods with a combination of concentrated carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and fibre. This is why we LOVE bliss balls so much!
And when you follow this simple chocolate mint bliss balls recipe you don't have to worry about quality. They're SUPER in every way!
Cacao - Food Of The Gods
I've kept the ingredients in this bliss ball simple. Simple but powerful!
One of my all-time favourite superfoods, Cacao can boost your health on many levels. Raw, powdered cacao is full of flavonoids, which acts as a natural antioxidant. Antioxidants protect the body from ageing, heart disease and other diseases caused by free radicals.
Cacao is rich in magnesium. Magnesium is essential for energy production, for a healthy brain and nervous system.
Cacao is a good source of four scientifically proven bliss chemicals – serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine. These neurotransmitters are linked with warm feelings of wellbeing, happiness and can even alleviate depression.
And would you believe it? Cacao contains more calcium than cow's milk!
Chocolate Mint Bliss Balls
These bliss balls will only take 10 minutes to prepare. They are brilliant for busy days when you need to have breakfast on-the-go. Or need an energy boost prework.
These little beauties hold well in the fridge in an airtight container for up to one week (if they last that long!).
Bliss balls can also be frozen (again...if they last that long 🤣).
